I’m Jenny.
Wife. Mother. Writer. Thirty-something semi-adult.
But do you know what I wish I’d have known before I became those things?
How HARD it would all be. How much I’d need God. How often I’d mess up. How much my heart would break. How much there was to know, and how little I actually understood.
But here’s what I’m learning.
In the hurt and the hard and the heartbreak, I’m growing. Life is evolving. God is restoring. Because beauty rises from the dirt, doesn’t it?
There’s a good chance you’re here because, like me, you’ve experienced pregnancy or infant loss. My experience with loss remains, without a doubt, the most heartbreaking period of my life. And yet, I’m amazed how God has used it to help me connect with other hurting hearts and bring me closer to him. My view of the world is so much broader, and my faith too. My heart will forever be with parents who are grieving the loss of a precious child. Nothing changes life quite like loss.
If you’re not a woman who has experienced loss, you’re probably here because of words I’ve written about motherhood, faith, or life’s little (and sometimes big) challenges. It is my hope that we can connect through the common threads of humanity, of womanhood, and of struggle.
I’ll never pretend to know everything, or really, much of anything, but I hope to encourage you through stories of the hard, heart, and humorous parts of my life, woven together with threads of hope and faith.
Because what I do know is this: God is working even when life is not. God is good even when life is not. And God has good plans even when all of mine fall apart.
When I’m not typing words, I can be found wrangling a fiery little boy and nurturing a quickly growing girl, while engaging in sarcastic banter with my husband. I’m a tea-addicted, jewelry-loving, cat-obsessed, Jesus-following, introverted midwestern girl who is thrilled to connect with you from the other side of the screen.
I’m so glad you’re here.
