While you’re out hustling and bustling with the rest of society, don’t forget to be kind. Don’t allow the rush to take the Merry out of Christmas. Remember to be gentle as you maneuver through the crazed masses of people – and better yet, try not to be one of those crazed people.
Open the door for someone – you don’t know how many closed doors they are facing.
Offer a smile to someone – it might just be the only gift they need.
Let someone else have the good parking spot – it may be the one bright spot in their day.
Help someone carry their bags – you don’t know how heavy an invisible load they might be carrying.
Let someone go ahead of you in line – it may be their only advantage in a long line of obstacles.
Offer yourself as a distraction to someone’s wild child – it may be the only relief they experience all day.
Pick up a few extra gifts for someone in need – your thoughtfulness might just be the best gift they receive.
Wish someone a Merry Christmas – and mean it.
And above all, remember it’s not you who is at the center of the season.
